EuroVelo routes
Belgium has an extensive network of interesting long-distance cycling routes, which allow you to explore this fascinating country.
In Wallonia, routes 3, 5 and 19 follow the RAVeL networks for the most part.
- EuroVelo 19 – Meuse Cycle Route : the landscape of the Meuse is characterised by dramatic rock faces many with castles perched on top.
- EuroVelo 5 : will introduce you to the rich natural, architectural, cultural and brewing heritage of the country.
- EuroVelo 3 : the Pilgrims route leads you to the city of Liège, passing through the symbolic place of the “Three Borders” between Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
"Points Noeuds" network
Wallonia has a number of cycle routes linked to each other by intersections, known locally as points-noeuds. Already well known in the Netherlands and Flanders, Wallonia is developing the intersecting network fast.
‘Points-noeuds’ help cyclists create an itinerary to suit themselves, according to their capabilities. A simple system of numbers and signposts at each intersection makes the different routes easy to follow. It also allows cyclists to alter their itinerary at the midway point, just as the fancy takes them. Discover themed routes that lead from one intersection to another.
