Andenne tourism info

Andenne, the city of bears !

When we walk around Andenne, we always find a reference to the bear... But where does this love for this animal come from? Legend has it that as a child , Charles Martel, Charlemagne’s grandson, struck down a bear that terrorized the region. Since then, the bear has become the emblem of the city.

But that’s not the only thing that characterizes Andenne ! The territory of this municipality offers beautiful things to discover such as the nature reserve of Sclaigneaux, perched on the banks of Meuse or the Phare, anchored in the city center. Inside, the museum space of Andenne will make you discover the art of ceramics as well as the archaeological finds made in the cave Scladina, which is also visited nearby.

Don’t leave without tasting the delicious chocolates of Ariqua or the local beer, the Mochenaire.
