« D’après Nature. Représenter le paysage 250 ans après John Constable »
This exhibition is the result of a collaboration between a group of contemporary artists from Namur and the Les Bateliers museum complex. The artists wanted to pay tribute to one of the painters who liberated landscape painting in the 18th century, transforming it from a decorative backdrop into the subject of a work of art, thereby sparking the modern art movements of the 19th and 20th centuries. In response to the proposal to illustrate this artistic lineage with the work of John Constable, a dozen 20th-century paintings from the municipal collections that reflect this liberation of the subject of Nature have been added to the exhibition.
Open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
