Le Grand Méchant Rouge: Nancy Pierret exhibits all summer in Dinant
The summer exhibition “Le Grand Méchant Rouge” plunges you into the imaginary world, sometimes dark, sometimes colorful, of illustrator and visual artist Nancy Pierret.
Nancy Pierret has been surrounded by artists from an early age, and it shows! A native of Bastogne, this multi-talented artist is both a visual artist and an illustrator, mainly of children's literature.
In this exhibition, you can follow the illustrator's work in the creation of an album, or discover illustrations from books published by Mijade from 2001 to 2006, as well as more recent editions: two collections of poetry and a more personal album created to mark the birth of her daughter. The exhibition will also provide an opportunity to discover a wide range of illustration techniques.
Nancy Pierret has a whole imaginary world to explore! She loves colors, imaginary stories, monsters and the little fairies of today... Two worlds come together. The first is joyful and colorful, with contemporary tones and inspirations, while the second is darker, inspired by the puppets, circus and monster fairs of yesteryear, and influenced by Tim Burton.
Her passion for children's theater and animated films has also led her to create puppets and small characters, which she stages in miniature sets using objects she has carefully collected since childhood.
