Maredret Abbey

The Benedictine abbey was founded in 1893 by Cécile de Hemptinne and six Belgian nuns. The neo-Gothic abbey is a place of quiet contemplation. (Craft shop: religious images, illuminated manuscripts, miniatures; wide choice of gifts: cards, photos, embroidery, jams, biscuits, apple jellies, fruit juices, etc. made at the abbey. Permanent exhibitions of Gothic illuminations and illuminations of the abbey's history).
